Demystifying the I-20 Process
With May 1st on the horizon, colleges and universities are starting to execute their I-20 communication strategies for their deposited international students. For those in international admissions, you know all too well the variety of questions and concerns that you hear each year from your deposited students that need to finalize their enrollment requirements.
To help streamline these inquiries and relieve the stress on deposited students, our partners are building visa and I-20 information sessions into their spring and summer communication strategies to ensure that they are providing the necessary support to their students, but also to reduce international student melt.
Hosting an I-20 overview on Conduit is the proven way to educate your international students on a crucial step in the enrollment process. On Conduit, you can run both live and simulive sessions for these events to connect with students across a variety of different time zones. To reduce the stress even further on your audience, we strongly recommend using our Q-Token feature, which removes the need for your deposited students to create yet another school profile.
Below, we’ve compiled a few webcasts that can provide some inspiration during your strategic planning for I-20 support this spring.
Boston University hosted an engaging event for accepted international students. The event included an introduction to the ISSO director, a review of the visa application process, insights from a current BU student and an open Q&A at the end. During the presentation, BU included a “selfie” style video with “welcome” messages from current international students in their native language.
The U.S. Department of State ran an informative webcast on our platform, targeting prospective international student students. The presentation offers an overview of the U.S. visa process. This is a great presentation for your admissions team to reference – as it outlines timelines, and public resources, for international students.
