How Stevens Institute of Technology built and executed a plan from application generation through enrollment
About Stevens Institute of Technology
Stevens Institute of Technology is a premier, private research university situated in Hoboken, N.J. overlooking the Manhattan skyline. Founded in 1870, technological innovation has been the hallmark and legacy of Stevens’ education and research programs for more than 140 years. Within the university’s three schools and one college, more than 6,100 undergraduate and graduate students collaborate with more than 350 faculty members in an interdisciplinary, student-centric, entrepreneurial environment to advance the frontiers of science and leverage technology to confront global challenges.
The Challenge
Stevens Institute of Technology was looking for a way to attract and engage potential international candidates for admission to their graduate programs. Given the challenges many US-based institutions are facing (time zones, declining interest in US-education globally), Stevens also needed to focus on maximizing yield of admitted students to enrollment.
The Plan
Partnering with PlatformQ Education, Stevens Institute of Technology developed and executed a robust sequence of live and on-demand video content with live online chats to support application completion and yield. Programs included important topics, including broad content to inform students of the value of a graduate degree from Stevens, to step-by-step application workshops and Q&A interviews with the Director of Graduate Admission.
Stevens leveraged the Conduit Q-Message global SMS broadcast text messaging tool to promote their live events as well as their on-the-ground events to their prospective student audience to maximize attendance.
The Results
In total, Stevens hosted about 1 webcast per month to fill in the gaps between their traditional outreach and travel plans. Stevens engaged over 1,000 students throughout the spring with their live and on-demand content. Their interview with the Director of Graduate Admission attracted over 100 attendees from around the globe alone.
